Claude Cowork and chat come together for Enterprise

After Pro and Max plans in September, Anthropic is bringing the unified experience that merges chat and Cowork to Claude Enterprise, on web, desktop and mobile. Every conversation starts as a chat; when a task needs code or files, Claude carries on in an isolated, Anthropic-managed cloud virtual machine, and the work keeps running after the laptop is closed. Admins get a new Efficient mode (limited to Sonnet and Haiku models), per-role model entitlements and spend limits. It is off by default for existing organisations and switches on by default on 16 November 2026; zero-data-retention, HIPAA-ready and customer-managed-key setups are not eligible yet.
